bands, with their ladder design, had many of the same features that popularized the Komfit with NASA astronauts.  They were adjustable, having the ability to be sized in increments of about 3mm, fit a wide variety of wrist sizes, and, of course, were extremely comfortable.  The bracelets also could be worn with watches having fixed (non-removable) lug bars.  As a result, the Bamboo- or Bonklip-style bracelets were often provided with military-supplied watches (for example, the \"Bonklip\" (English made) bracelet was supplied with the IWC Mark XI) which often had such fixed bars.  Forstner created a version, however, that improved on prior designs, with a spring-loaded clasp that made the wearing experience more intuitive yet still secure.  This feature is included on the present bonklip-style bracelet has an 18mm wide central portion, with alternating brushed and polished finishes on the rectangular \"ladder\" design, and a polished spring-loaded clasp.  Made entirely of stainless steel, the band is light, breathable, and extremely comfortable, having the ability to be easily sized in approximately 3mm increments for the perfect fit.  Here are removable spring bars are \u003cspan\u003eat least\u003c\/span\u003e 1.5mm, so this should ordinarily not be an issue).  If wearing the bracelet on watches with bars under 1.5mm, we recommend practicing fitting the bracelet over a soft surface to ensure that the fit is sufficiently secure.  Moreover, on watches with such narrow bars, a tighter fit is better--while the risk of inadvertent revived design, the original Gay Freres version was a universal fit band (having straight end pieces) with three narrow center links, wider outer links, and polished rivets on the side.  But, being a vintage bracelet, the Gay Freres version was made with vintage proportions in mind, often just 14mm wide, with hollow stretchy links that could not be removed.  Nonetheless, original examples are highly coveted by bracelet enthusiasts and fetch exorbitant prices on the secondary market.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt Forstner, we've been eager to revive this gorgeous design for some time, and have spent years working to perfect it.  Our mission, after all, is to faithfully revive iconic vintage bracelets that have been long out of production, upgraded to modern standards.  This one in particular was long overdue for a comeback.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHonouring the beautiful vintage Gay Freres design, Forstner has created its own take on the classic 5-link rivet bracelet.  We've maintained the features that made the 5-link bracelet so charming, such as real rivets, narrow center links, and its beautiful polished\/brushed finish.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBut it wouldn't be a Forstner band unless it had some key improvements as well.  For one, we've upped the bracelet width to provide more contemporary proportions, while still maintaining the vintage spirit.  Now having a 16mm wide bracelet portion and end pieces going up to 20mm, Forstner's 5-Link Rivet band will fit most contemporary pieces while providing a beautiful vintage aesthetic.  In addition, Forstner crafted the bracelet with solid 316L stainless steel links, removable links via screws, and patterned end pieces matching the finish of the links.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOne of our most notable improvements, however, is a completely new link removal system.  Still using screws for optimal convenience, we've done away with the double-sided screw tube, which required holding one
